St. George

Nate and I were lucky enough to be able to meet up with my parents in St. George last weekend. We drove down Thursday night and my parents arrive early early Friday morning. Get ready for lots of pictures!

Friday we drove to Snow Canyon with our bikes and stopped a few times to hike around, including jumping off of sand dunes and climbing up a petrified sand dune. We ate lunch at a park, and played some Bocce Ball. Then we headed to the red crack (because I remembered going there a couple times when I was younger. I was a little nervous this time, but we all made it through. Barely. That evening we hung out at the hotel pool, enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Black Bear Diner, and played a game of 5 Crowns.

Saturday there was an Iron Man going on, so the city was a little crowded. We headed to Tuacahn for their farmers market and then made our way to Zions. We were able to do 3 different hikes while in Zions. The riverside walk, hidden canyon, and the lower emerald pools. The hidden canyon hike was amazing. We climbed up the side of a mountain with a drop off on the other side, using chains and made our way into a gorgeous canyon filled with greenery and red rock everywhere.  On the way back from Zions we stopped at a restaurant called Baristas. The food was absolutely amazing, though a little pricey.

Sunday we went to church, went to the temple and walked around the grounds, went to the Brigham Young Winter Home and did a tour. Went back to our hotel and played a game of Ticket to Ride and then enjoyed a delicious dinner of BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. That evening we did a walking tour of the city, and mom was our "tour guide".

Monday morning we had our continental breakfast and then rode on a bike path around the city. We ended our trip there and said our goodbyes and headed back up to Orem. We were happily greeted by our pets when we got home. And grateful that we were able to leave them in the hands of our neighbors.

It was a wonderful trip, and we are so glad that we had the opportunity to go.
